something that pertains to more than one item, or more than one piece of property. In a blanket condemnation, a number of properties are sold through the power of eminent domain. A blanket insurance policy covers more than one property. A blanket mortgage is a lien on more than one parcel of land and is frequently used by developers and subdividers.
